Immeasurably More

We all have untapped potential within us, and there is a better life available to us.

I am excited to begin a new blog as part of my coaching, training and speaking business. My mission is to provide skilled coaching for personal and professional growth and assist my clients in achieving their personal and professional objectives.

Executive and professional coaching has a relatively short history, really catching fire in the last couple of decades. My passion for coaching came about partly because I struggled to find my place in the business world and in relationships, and I didn’t have the benefit of good training, coaching, or mentoring in important areas for many years.

What Changed for Me.

Finding my place and gaining the confidence to fully embrace my opportunities changed my life in some dramatic ways, and I believe that can be true for many others as well. I will be sharing some insights, wisdom and lessons gained in the four plus decades of my career, along with a few of my struggles.

I am fortunate that I have had many people who have impacted my life, some through business groups, some who have been mentors, business or life coaches. The most significant influence, however, has come through my Christian faith.

That may seem odd to some, but my identity as a Christ follower is that I am fully loved by God, and gifted with talents and abilities that enable me to live a productive, fulfilling life. Among the strongest of those abilities are the gifts of encouragement and leadership, which motivates me to pay forward the blessings I’ve received.

Achievement or Fulfillment.

There are notable differences between those who have significant career achievements in their lives and those who do not. What will not come as a surprise is that many high achievers have significant areas of their lives that are not satisfying, be it good relationships, health, integrity, or personal fulfillment.

Living a truly fulfilling life that creates a legacy will include these elements along with professional success. My belief is we do not need to sacrifice one or more of these areas to have a life that is well lived, so the personal side need not be neglected to have professional success.

Our current culture seems to celebrate success, power, money, and fame in ways that are intoxicating, sucking us into lifestyles that can cause significant damage to the areas of our lives that are the most meaningful. We need people in our lives who can give us guidance and accountability to help us steer a course that will bring the greatest fulfillment. I hope I can play a part in that.

Fulfilling Your Potential

The title of my blog is Immeasurably More, which comes from Ephesians 3:20-21,

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!

I believe that we all have untapped potential within us, and that God has a better life in mind for us that is far beyond what we experience. Immeasurably more!

Two important requirements for that kind of life are a close relationship with God, and a community of people who provide us with love, encouragement, guidance, inspiration and leadership. I hope you will join me as we explore how we can live that life!
